2005 Conference in Ottawa
BJD at Parliament
 

On October 27-28, 2005, the International National Action Network Meeting of the Bone and Joint Decade was convened at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Canada's nation's capital.

Under the umbrella name of "Rock This Joint", this conference was paired with two other Canadian conferences, the Canadian Arthritis Network (CAN) Annual Conference and the Canadian Summit on Arthritis Standards for Prevention and Care (SOPC), along with the International Patient Meeting that was organized by the International Steering Committee (ISC) of the BJD.

The ISC met before and after the NAN meeting, and there was much sharing amongst the participants of each of the conferences. Building on the Canadian Arthritis Bill of Rights and Responsibilities, these conferences outlined Standards for Arthritis Prevention and Care that have laid the foundation for subsequent policy and research planning and resource allocation.
